What is a compact?
Compact is voluntary agreement involving good practice in partnership working. Many funding strategies encourage partnership working and the Compact helps to define areas for consideration when entering into a working relationship with another agency, whether voluntary or statutory. CASES has been involved in the development of the East Staffordshire Compact and has copies available for you. To order your copy contact us.
CASES is also involved in the development of County Compact which is due to be launched on 28th January 2005.
Why is it important for you?
It can enhance partnership agreements you may have in delivering your services. It builds upon good practice and expects fundamental questions to be considered e.g.
Do you receive or give feedback on the results of any consultation processes?
Do your funders give you due notice when funding rounds are being considered?
Are your volunteers recognised for the contribution they make to society?
Is your organisation valued for the services it provides?
Who is involved?
All voluntary, community and statutory agencies are encouraged to endorse the Compact. An appendix to the Compact lists all the agencies that have sent a letter of endorsement to CASES who are managing the distribution and administration.
How can my group be involved?
If your organisation works in partnership with another agency, you may like to have your own copy of the East Staffordshire Compact and add your organisation to the list of endorsements. Contact us for a copy. The Compact will be reviewed annually and each recipient will be invited to the review.
