CEDAR (Community Economic Development and Regeneration)
CEDAR is a partnership between East Staffordshire Borough Council and Community Action and Support – East Staffordshire. The purpose of CEDAR is to strengthen the voluntary and community sector, by encouraging an entrepreneurial approach to achieve sustainability.
CEDAR aims to:
Support the voluntary and community sector to make the most of external funding – through a series of seminars and advice surgeries, identify and submit funding applications; technical and practical assistance (eg project management skills; business advice/training; accounting practices).
Develop new and existing community/social enterprise, identify potential for trading opportunities, encouraging an entrepreneurial attitude; provide support for feasibility studies, pilot scheme, identify premises, business planning, etc.
Networking and sharing best practice through exchange visits and seminars.
Eric Clayton, the CEDAR Funding Advice Officer is based at CASES in the voluntary Services Centre, Union Street. He will provide funding information and advise and support groups with applications. Email Eric: ericclayton@cases-vol.org.uk
Mumtaz Khan, the CEDAR Community Regeneration Officer based at ESBC in Regeneration and Partnerships Department, will work with groups to help them identify, start-up and develop community or social enterprise activities.
